Western Australia Club
The Bolwell Car Club Australia Western Australian Branch was formed in August 1983.
Several local Bolwell owners who felt that the nearest branch – which was South Australia – was a little too far to be fully involved decided to call for expressions of interest in forming a local club.
A meeting was called at the home of John Arcus and a surprising number of people turned up.
A decision was made and the WA branch was formed with John Arcus as our first President.
Many of those there are still members today. Barry Currie, Ross Lowe, Ray Julien, Mike Julien and even John Arcus has rejoined. Meetings are held each month at members homes and are very social.
Over the years, members have helped each other with their rebuilds and improvements and a lot of experience and knowledge has been gained. Some members are involved in competition and social events are held. It has even been said we should include food appreciation in our list of aims.
Our branch is now authorized with the Department of Transport to offer members concessions on their registration costs each year.
We remain in contact with all the other Branches in other states and get together at the Easter National Meeting.
